The bookstore, located in Cambridge's Inman Square, recently won the Boston Phoenix's 2005 Award for "Best place to help a bookstore save the world." Lorem Labs, which produces the book bot, is nearing completion of a public release of its bookstore management software, aimed at helping to update the infrastructure of the industry. Other projects of Lorem Labs include a book sales sonification device, a store geocache, RFID-based inventory tracking, and a series of retail experience enhancement games to drive repeat traffic.

Sculptor Snell Johnson passed away in 2001 but his larger than life sculpture lives on throughout the West. In a rare opportunity, one of his most visible pieces titled "Come And Get It", which has welcomed guests to Rawhide Western Town, a Western Theme Park in Scottsdale, AZ, for many years, went back for sale on eBay on November 8th, 2005 for 10 days. All proceeds from the sale will be donated to charity. The sculpture was recently appraised at $1.5 million dollars. Bidding is expected to be heavy and so is the statue, weighing in at an impressive 9.5 tons. "The statue was for sale earlier on Ebay and had one bidder who cancelled their bid at the last moment. In order to give the over 100 people who had the statue on their watch list a fair opportunity to bid, we decided to extend the auction," said Dave Lakhani, publicist for the statue's owners.
